Mongolian Ground Beef Noodles

- 1 lb ground beef
- 8 oz noodles (lo mein or spaghetti)
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Cook the noodles according to package
- instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over
- medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook
- until browned, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Add the minced garlic and ginger to the beef
- and optional red pepper and cook for 1-2
- minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and brown
- sugar. Simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce
- thickens slightly.
- Toss the cooked noodles into the skillet,
- coating them in the beef and sauce mixture.
- Garnish with chopped green onions, red
- pepper flakes (if using), and sesame seeds
- before serving.
