Dream Biscuits
Yield: 10
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp sugar
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl and whisk until combined.
- Microwave buttermilk for 60-90 seconds until an instant-read thermometer registers 95-100 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Using a rubber spatula, mix the buttermilk into the dry ingredients until batter is smooth.
- Using a 1/3 cup measuring cup sprayed with cooking spray, drop scoops of dough onto baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, turning halfway through. Melt butter when biscuits are almost done.
- Brush tops of biscuits with melted butter and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
- Experiment with removing the baking soda after cooking for the first time. The original segment stated it was solely for flavor and browning, and I don't like an excessive amount of baking soda flavor.
