  1. Preheat the oven to 300°F. Place the chicken fricase in a colander, and set the strained sauce aside. Remove the chicken pieces from the colander, and set aside. Remove and discard the bones and any excess fat from the pieces of chicken. Using your hands, thinly shred the chicken, and mix with the rice.
  2. Spread 1/3 of the rice-chicken mixture on the bottom of a baking dish, and using your hands or a rubber spatula, press down to form a tight even layer. Pour 1 cup of the reserved fricase sauce over the layer of rice, arrange half of the cheese slices on top, and spread another 1/2 cup of the sauce over the cheese. Spread the remaining rice in a layer on top, and pack down to tighten. Pour the remaining sauce over the rice and arrange the remaining cheese on top.
  3. Place in the oven, and bake until the cheese melts and develops a golden hue, about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven, slice as you would a lasagna, and serve.
